Enterprise Culture

One of the key objectives of Offaly County Enterprise Board is to promote an enterprise culture. The Small Business Forum published a report in 2006 which highlighted the reinforcement of entrepreneurship in the education system as a critical element in the future development of small business in Ireland.

Offaly County Enterprise Board run a number of educational initiatives at both primary and second level.

A new resource is now available for teachers of Senior Cycle Programmes. The County and City Enterprise Boards, in association with the Second Level Support SERvice, are delight to be involved in the development and delivery of Exploring Enterprise. This resource, which comprises a DVD with eight case studies of entrepreneurship and an accompanying 'Teacher Resource Book' is designed to enhance the teaching and learning of entrepreneurship in second level schools. If you are a teacher, and would like to get your copy of Exporing Enterprise, please contact us for your free copy.

Offaly County Enterprise Board also has a dedicated Schools Co-Ordinator who is available to visit schools to speak to students about entrepreneurship in general and the role of the County Enterprise Board in helping develop local businesses.
